Each session in Gym Art Meets provides you control over how many (and which) judges are at which apparatus. Judges enter scores for your meet using the Judge's Companion application and will be prompted to select which role(s) they are assuming. The list they can choose from is controlled from the Judging table section of your session's dashboard.
In this guide, we cover:
You can learn more about the judge's experience entering scores from our guide for Judge's Companion here:
Below is a visual flow chart on how scores and videos are submitted in Gym Art Meets using our judging application Judge's Companion
For each rotation in a session, you can specify which roles are available to select. These roles include:
Difficulty 1 (head judge)
Execution 1 - 7
Video Recorder
There is no option for the Difficulty 2 judge, as they confer with the Difficulty 1 judge to agree on the difficulty score. It is only the D1 judge that enters the difficulty score.
You can control which roles are available for judges to assume for each session. To toggle whether a role is available follow these steps:
From the Schedules page of your meet, click Edit Session
Navigate to the Rotations tab of your session
Click on the role tile to toggle it's availability
The D1 and E1 roles cannot be removed as they are essential to submitting a score
Judges can select multiple roles. For example, they can be the D1 and E1, or any other combination of roles. This will provide them with a merged interface that prompts them to enter all the necessary values for their roles.
The Difficulty 1 judge, i.e. the D1 or head judge is responsible for entering the difficulty score and reviewing and submitting the final score. Below is a guide on what a difficulty judge must do when at the judging table.
The execution judge is responsible for entering the deductions they took during the routine. Their deductions will be averaged with the other judges (after removing outliers). Below is a guide on what an execution judge must do when at the judging table.
The video recorder is responsible for recording and uploading the routine performances of each athlete. Their videos are only displayed if the athlete's score is fully submitted and is not scratched. Below is a guide on what a video recorder must do when at the judging table.
Here is an example of how toggling the roles will affect what the judges see in Judge's Companion.
In this example, we enable the D1, E1, E2, E3 & Video Recorder roles. This allows judges to select from those roles in Judge's Companion, as shown in the second image.
In this example, we only enable the D1, E1, and E2 roles. This allows judges to select from those roles in Judge's Companion, as shown in the second image.
