Connect ScoreCat
Link your meet to ScoreCat and start sending scores as they are entered.
You want your scores showing up on ScoreCat's scoreboard while the meet runs. Here is how to hook the two together.
Before you start
You are an admin on the meet in Gym Art Meets.
You have a ScoreCat account. Either an operator email and password, or an API key and a ScoreCat meet ID that ScoreCat gave you.
Your gymnasts are on the roster. A gymnast who is not on it is left out of what gets sent.
Step 1: Open Connectors
Open your meet, then click Connectors in the sidebar under Score Exporting.
The page opens on Import & publish. At the top is the Live publishing card, then Inbound for imports, then Outbound with a card for MeetScoresOnline and a card for ScoreCat.
The Live publishing switch on that first card is what sends scores to your connected partners as they are entered. Leave it on. Nothing goes out while it is off, whichever partners are connected.
Step 2: Connect ScoreCat
Find the ScoreCat card under Outbound. It says Not connected. Pick one of the two ways in.
If ScoreCat already set up your meet, leave the toggle on Enter details and fill in:
API key. The key from your ScoreCat account.
ScoreCat meet ID. The meet on ScoreCat's side that your scores should land in.
Click Connect. You get "Connected to ScoreCat."
If the meet does not exist on ScoreCat yet, switch the toggle to Set up automatically and fill in:
ScoreCat operator email
ScoreCat operator password
Click Create & connect. Gym Art creates the meet on ScoreCat for you and links it in one step. You get "ScoreCat meet created and connected."
Your login is used once, to create the meet. What gets stored afterwards is the connection for this meet, encrypted, and it is only ever used to publish this meet.
Creating the meet needs your Gym Art meet filled in first, and it refuses with a message naming what is missing rather than creating something half-right on ScoreCat under your club's name. The Event details card at the top of the Connectors page holds every required field — meet name, dates, organizer contact name and email, and club name — and flags the empty ones, so you can fill them there before you click. Unlike MeetScoresOnline, ScoreCat takes a meet fielding more than one discipline, so a combined WAG and MAG meet is fine here.
It is also one-shot: it creates a meet on ScoreCat that Gym Art cannot rename or delete afterwards. A second click is refused rather than creating a duplicate. To delete the meet you have to go to ScoreCat and delete it there.
Step 3: Check it took
The card flips to Connected and shows three things:
Meet ID. The meet on ScoreCat that yours is now tied to. Worth a glance, because a typo here is the usual reason scores land somewhere unexpected.
Status. Reads Not published until the first send, then Uploaded, or Failed if ScoreCat rejected it.
Last published. The date and time of the most recent send. It appears after the first one.
Once a judge submits a score, Status should reach Uploaded within about a minute. If it says Failed, the credentials or the meet ID are usually the cause. Disconnect, then connect again with the right details.
What happens now
Scores go out on their own for as long as the meet runs. Each send carries the apparatus scores entered so far, the all-around, the placements those scores work out to, and your club team standings. Every live send is flagged provisional, so ScoreCat shows it as in progress.
Sessions are finalized at the end of the timeline. When a session's last timeline section has passed, that session's results go to ScoreCat marked official on their own, while the sessions still competing stay provisional.
When the whole meet is done and its scores are verified, press Finalize meet at the bottom of the page. That marks the results official.
It covers the whole meet, not one session. Pressing it while a session is still running marks that session's part-finished scores official too, so wait until every session is done. What goes out is rebuilt from the meet as it stands at that moment, so it can differ from the last live send and picks up any score corrected since.
Turn the Live publishing switch off first, or the next score entered anywhere in the meet sends the provisional version again over what you just published.
ScoreCat identifies a session by its name, and every send carries the name the session has right now. Rename a session and the next send lands under the new name on its own, with nothing to reconnect.
It does not tidy up, though. The session under the old name stays on ScoreCat holding whatever it last received, and no later send removes it. Disconnecting does not either: that clears the connection on the Gym Art side and changes nothing on theirs. To remove an old session, ask ScoreCat to delete it.
Control what goes out
Use the buttons on the ScoreCat card to control automatic publishing:
Pause stops sending to ScoreCat. What is already on their side stays. Other partners keep publishing.
Resume starts again, with the current scores rather than a backlog.
Clear & resync is for MeetScoresOnline. MSO merges each send into what it already holds, so a correction can leave a stale row behind; this tells MSO to drop its copy and take the next send whole. It rides along with the next live send, so wait for that rather than finalizing early. ScoreCat ignores it: ScoreCat already replaces a session outright on every send, and only ScoreCat can delete an old one.
Disconnect forgets the connection and the stored credentials. What is already published on ScoreCat stays there.
To stop every partner at once, turn the Live publishing switch at the top of the page off instead.
