# How publishing to partner platforms works

> Understand what Connectors does and what it sends before you turn it on.

Some of the families at your meet are not watching Gym Art. They are watching ScoreCat, or they are looking your meet up on MeetScoresOnline because that is where their club always posts. Connectors sends your scores to those platforms for you, so you score the meet once and it shows up everywhere.

## The two things it does

Connectors covers two different jobs, and it helps to keep them apart.

**Live publishing** runs by itself while the meet is happening. Every time a judge submits a score, Gym Art notices and sends the current scores out to whichever partners you connected. There is nothing to click. Spectators on the partner platform see numbers appear at roughly the same time your own audience does.

Every live send carries the scores entered so far, the all-around they add up to, and the placements those scores work out to. All of it goes out flagged provisional, and partners label it that way: MeetScoresOnline shows the meet as **Uploading**, not **Meet Complete**. Halfway through rotation one everyone who has competed is near the top, so treat a live placement as a running total rather than a result.

This is not the same thing as [publishing live scores on Gym Art](/results/publish-live-scores.md), which is the visibility switch that decides whether your own public meet page shows scores. That one is in **Meet settings**, and it sends nothing anywhere.

**Final rankings** are the opposite. You press **Finalize meet** once the whole meet is done, Gym Art works out the real placements using the score settings and tiebreakers you configured, and sends those out as official results. That is the number families screenshot, so it only goes out when you say so. It covers the whole meet, not one session, so pressing it while a session is still running marks that session official too. What goes out is rebuilt from the meet as it stands at that moment, so the placements can differ from the last live send.

Turn the **Live publishing** switch off before you send official results. The live feed does not know you have published: while the switch is on, the next score entered anywhere in the meet sends the whole meet again as provisional, over the official results you just sent. **Finalize meet** works with the switch off, so turning it off costs you nothing.

## Where it lives

Open your meet, then find **Connectors** in the sidebar under **Score Exporting**. Everything is on that one page, and every connection you make there belongs to that meet alone. Connecting ScoreCat for your spring invitational does not connect it for your fall meet.

The page has two halves. **Inbound** is data coming in, which today means [importing a meet from MeetMaker](/migration/import-from-meetmaker.md) by pasting its event URL — there is no file to export. **Outbound** is your results going out, which is MeetScoresOnline and ScoreCat.

## What you need before you start

You need an account with the partner. Gym Art does not create one for you, and neither partner will accept results for a meet that does not exist on their side.

For ScoreCat that means either an operator login, or an API key and a meet ID that someone at ScoreCat has already set up for you. For MeetScoresOnline it means your MSO meet ID and upload password, unless you let Gym Art register the meet for you.

You also need admin access to the meet in Gym Art. Coaches and judges cannot see the Connectors page.

## What is covered so far

Right now this works for **WAG** and **MAG**. Both partners get individual placements. ScoreCat also gets club team placements, your session schedule with its start times, and your rotation and flight setup.
