KScore score entry
How to enter scores on competition day if you're coming from KSCORE.
Before you start: You'll need judge profiles set up and judges assigned to apparatus.
What you're used to
In KSCORE, judges enter scores through a browser on any device. Tablets, phones, laptops, whatever's available. You can also do it old school: paper chits to a secretary, or a judge just tells the secretary the score verbally. Minimum hardware is one laptop. Results show up on live.kscore.ca with a 4-second refresh.
How it works now
The main way to enter scores in Gym Art Meets is through the Judges Companion app. It's available on iPhone, Android, and in a web browser. Each judge uses their own device.
But paper still works too. You're not forced into anything.
Judges Companion (digital scoring)
Each judge opens the Judges Companion on their phone or tablet. They see only their assigned sessions and apparatus, nothing else.
Here's who enters what:
D1 enters the difficulty score and any neutral deductions
E judges (E1 through E7) enter their execution deductions
VR records video of the routine (no score entry, just video)
S1 (Supervisor) can fill any of the above roles
Scores update in real time. As soon as a judge submits, the system calculates and results show up live.
Enter scores via Judges Companion
Paper scoring (yes, it still works)
If some of your judges aren't comfortable with the app, or you just don't have enough devices, that's fine. There are printable score sheets. The secretary enters the scores through the Meet Dashboard, same as KSCORE's chit-based system.
You can mix and match too. Some apparatus on the app, others on paper. Whatever works for your setup.
How the score is calculated
Same formula you're used to:
Final Score = Execution + Difficulty + Bonus - Neutral Deductions
If you have multiple E judges, the system handles the math based on what you set in the level's score settings. It can average all E scores, drop the high, drop the low, or drop both.
Vault scoring
Each level has a setting called Vault Score Decision that controls how two vault attempts combine:
One Vault
Only the first vault counts
Average
Average of both vaults
Best of Two
The higher score counts
In KSCORE, this is set at the event level. In Gym Art Meets, it's set per level, so different levels can use different vault rules in the same meet.
Handle vault scoring and Vault score decision
Score status (how a score moves through the system)
Scores go through a few stages:
Not Started
Nobody's entered anything yet
In Progress

Submitted
The judge hit submit, waiting for review
In Review
An admin is looking at it
Verified
It's final
Scratch
The gymnast didn't compete on this apparatus
Admin override
Just like in KSCORE, the meet director can enter or correct scores directly from the Meet Dashboard. This bypasses the Judges Companion entirely. Use it for fixes, corrections, or when the secretary is entering paper scores.
Video recording (this is new)
If you assign someone the VR (Video Recorder) role, they can record routine videos through the Judges Companion app during competition. The videos get linked to the gymnast and their scores automatically. You, the organizer, control whether spectators can view the videos later.
This is something KSCORE doesn't have. It's optional, but clubs and parents tend to love it.
