# Results and rankings

> How to configure and view results, tiebreakers, and awards in Gym Art Meets if you're coming from KSIS.

**Prerequisites:** You have [configured score settings](/levels/individual-score-settings.md) and scores have been [entered](/scoring/enter-scores-judges-companion.md).

## In KSIS

KSIS generates results reports for individual apparatus, all-around, and team rankings. Tiebreakers are configured per competition. Results can be printed or exported. Awards reports show medal placements.

## In Gym Art Meets

### 1. Results Are Calculated Automatically

As scores are entered and verified, Gym Art Meets calculates rankings in real time for:

* **Individual apparatus** - rank by final score per apparatus
* **Individual all-around** - sum across all apparatus
* **Team apparatus** - sum of top N scores per apparatus
* **Team all-around** - sum of team apparatus scores

→ See [Results](/results/index.md)

### 2. Tiebreakers (More Granular Than KSIS)

In KSIS, you typically set one tiebreaker rule per competition. Gym Art Meets lets you configure **separate tiebreakers** for each ranking context:

| Context | What It Ranks | Configurable Independently |
| --------------------- | ----------------------- | ------------------------------- |
| Individual apparatus | Per-apparatus ranking | Yes |
| Individual all-around | All-around ranking | Yes |
| Individual vault | Vault-specific ranking | Yes (extra: Best of 2 E then D) |
| Team apparatus | Team apparatus ranking | Yes |
| Team all-around | Team all-around ranking | Yes |

All 8 tiebreaker algorithms are available for each context.

→ See [How do tiebreakers work?](/tiebreakers/index.md)

### 3. Tiebreaker Algorithm Mapping

| KSIS Rule | Gym Art Meets Algorithm |
| --------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Shared rank (no break) | [Do Not Break Ties](/tiebreakers/do-not-break-ties.md) |
| Execution first | [Compare E then D](/tiebreakers/compare-e-then-d.md) |
| Difficulty first | [Compare D then E](/tiebreakers/compare-d-then-e.md) |
| AA total decides | [All-Around Score](/tiebreakers/all-around-score.md) |
| Progressive drop | [Cascading All-Around](/tiebreakers/cascading-all-around.md) |
| Progressive drop + E then D | [Cascading AA then E then D](/tiebreakers/cascading-aa-then-e-then-d.md) |
| Older athlete wins | [Oldest Age Wins](/tiebreakers/oldest-age-wins.md) |
| Younger athlete wins | [Youngest Age Wins](/tiebreakers/youngest-age-wins.md) |

### 4. Rank Method (Bump Ranks)

In KSIS, tied gymnasts may or may not skip a rank number. In Gym Art Meets, this is the **Bump Rank on Tie** setting:

* **On**: 1st, 1st, 3rd (skip 2nd) - standard competition ranking
* **Off**: 1st, 1st, 2nd (dense ranking)

→ See [How bump ranks on tie works](/levels/bump-ranks.md)

### 5. Awards and Subdivisions

In KSIS, award categories determine who competes against whom for medals. In Gym Art Meets, the **"treat subdivisions as award groups"** toggle controls this:

* **On** - each subdivision gets its own rankings and awards
* **Off** - subdivisions are for scheduling only; all gymnasts in the competition are ranked together

→ See [Create subdivisions](/competitions/create-subdivisions.md)

### 6. Export Results

Gym Art Meets supports:

* **Live results** - public link for real-time viewing
* **PDF export** - printable results reports
* **CSV export** - data export for further analysis

This replaces KSIS's print results and export-to-Excel features.

→ See [Export scores](/scoring/export-scores.md)

## Key Differences

| Aspect | KSIS | Gym Art Meets |
| ---------------------- | -------------------------------- | ------------------------------------- |
| Results timing | Generated after scores finalized | Live, updated as scores are verified |
| Tiebreaker granularity | One setting per competition | Separate settings per ranking context |
| Award groups | Category-based | Subdivision-based (toggle on/off) |
| Export formats | PDF, Excel | PDF, CSV, live public link |
| Rank method | Varies by province rules | Bump Rank on Tie toggle per level |
