Squad list

Assign gymnasts to squads and apparatus starting positions, manage rotation assignments, and organize competition flow within sessions.

This is where gymnasts get placed into their starting positions for competition. You assign them to squads, organize them into flights, reorder them, and move them between apparatus. If the squad generation tool got you most of the way there, this is where you do the fine-tuning.

Prerequisites

Accessing the squad list

  1. Go to your meet dashboard and click Sessions in the sidebar.

  2. Open a session by clicking its dashboard button.

  3. Click the Squad List or Squads & Rotations tab.

How squads are organized

Each squad starts on a different apparatus. Squad A starts on the first apparatus, Squad B on the second, and so on. Within each squad, gymnasts can be divided into flights (Flight 1 and Flight 2) for more granular organization.

Gymnasts move through apparatus in a bump rotation: after completing one apparatus, the first gymnast becomes last in the next rotation. The system manages this automatically based on starting positions.

The interface

The page displays each apparatus as a column. Each column shows:

  • The apparatus name and squad identifier (like "Vault -- Squad A")

  • An Add button to pull in unassigned gymnasts

  • Flight sections with ordered gymnast lists

At the top, you can see how many gymnasts are assigned vs. unassigned across the session.

Adding gymnasts to squads

  1. Click the plus button next to any apparatus column.

  2. You will see all unassigned gymnasts in the session.

  3. Select the ones you want and add them to that squad and flight.

Moving and reordering gymnasts

Drag and drop is the primary way to manage assignments:

  • Drag a gymnast between apparatus columns to move them to a different squad

  • Drag within a squad to move between Flight 1 and Flight 2

  • Use the reorder icon (on the right side of each gymnast tile) to change competition order within a flight

You can also remove a gymnast from their squad, which sends them back to the unassigned pool for reassignment later.

Multi-select operations

For bulk changes:

  • Click the checkbox next to individual gymnasts to select them

  • Use the Select All button at the top of a flight section to grab everyone in that flight

  • Drag the selected group to another squad or flight

  • Use Remove All to clear an entire flight back to the unassigned pool

Search and filter

Use the search bar at the top to find gymnasts by name, number, club, or level. You can also filter by competition level, club, or date of birth using the dropdown menus. Search works across all squads and flights.

Adding break rotations

If you need a rest rotation between apparatus:

  1. Click Add Break in the top header.

  2. Choose which apparatus the break goes after and at which rotation position.

  3. The break appears as an additional column. Groups rotate through it as a rest period before continuing to the next apparatus.

For example, with 5 groups and 4 apparatus, the fifth group rests during each round while the others compete.
