Meets are gymnastics events where athletes compete over a specified period of time. Once created, you'll be able to add athletes, schedules, documents, and other information that will be displayed to the public.
Here are some fake athletes so that you can create a meet and see how it all works, without the data!
From the "My Meets" click on the "New" button
Select the organization to create your meet under
If this is your first meet, enter the name of your organization, and one will be created automatically
Enter the basic details (name, sport, location, date range, etc.) and click on "Create".
The sport of a meet (e.g. MAG or WAG) cannot be changed later
Once in the meet dashboard, you can modify the meet's information such as the description, cover images, documents, social links, and organizer information.
Now that you've created your meet the next step is to add athletes. Each athlete has a category (competition level) and team (gym club). These will automatically be created and can be modified later.
Navigate to the "Athletes" page under the Athlete Management section of the sidebar
Click on the "Upload" to import your data
Download the template we provide. It has the following columns: Last Name, First Name, Category, Team, Athlete Identifier, Athlete Number, Date of Birth, Registration Date, Coach identifiers
Required fields are marked with a *. They are Last Name, First Name, Category, Team, Athlete Identifier, Date of Birth,
Each athlete must have a unique Athlete Identifier
Once you've filled the template with your data, you can either
Copy the data in the data table to your clipboard and paste it into the text field
Upload your files to GAM using the "Upload" button
Review the athletes that will be created.
GAM will automatically identify categories and teams that have not been created before and create them for you.
For every new category, it will also make competitions and optimally divide the athletes from the category into subdivisions.
These options can be disabled form the "Creation Settings" menu under Step 3: Preview
Click "Create" in the top right corner and voila!
If your data is not loading properly, you can change the importation settings by clicking the "Advanced Import Options" buttons.
You can create your schedule now that you've added your athletes to competitions. Schedules consist of time slots called sessions. Each session represents a period in which athletes may compete in the event arena and have groups of athletes called rotations.
To create your first session follow these steps:
Navigate to the Schedules section under the Competition Management section on the side menu
Click the New Session button
Enter the basic details about the session: name, day, and start time and then click Next
Sessions also have a timeline for communicating the sections of the session such as arrival, warmup, and competition. We provide templates you can use which can be modified later.
Optionally select which competition subdivisions you want to add to your session's rotations. A subdivision is a subset of athletes from a competition whose size usually corresponds to the maximum number of athletes in the gym at one time.
If you select Auto-generate rotations GAM will automatically assign the athletes from the competitions to the rotations of the session. This will optimally distribute the athletes across the rotation groups such that the same categories and teams are grouped, minimizing coaches running around and judges changing rule sets.
Click Create and your session will be generated
With your sessions created your judge's can now enter scores and upload routine performance videos. We made a separate application called Judge's Companion for judges so that their experience is straightforward and error-averse. To get started entering scores for a session, follow these steps:
