Overview
The Timeline page allows you to modify a session's chronological information and organize the competition schedule into manageable sections. This page provides comprehensive control over:
Session Information: Update session name and description
Timeline Structure: Organize the session into distinct chronological sections
Time Management: Precise control over start times, end times, and section durations
Schedule Flexibility: Easily shift entire timelines and modify individual sections
Accessing the Timeline Page
Navigation Path
Open Session Dashboard
Navigate to your meet dashboard
Click on "Sessions" in the sidebar
Select a session from the grid or click its dashboard button
Access Timeline
In the session dashboard, click the "Timeline" tab or button
This opens the timeline management interface
Session Information Management
Basic Session Details
Editable Information:
Session Name: Update the session identifier
Description: Modify the session description or notes
Session Day: Select the specific day within the meet date range
These changes update the core session information and are reflected across all session management areas.
Timeline Structure Overview
Session Sections
The timeline is organized into session sections, each representing a distinct chronological period within the session:
Section Components:
Section Name: Descriptive identifier for the time period
Start Time: Beginning of the section
End Time: Conclusion of the section
Timeline Requirements:
Each session must have at least one section
Sections must have valid start and end times
Start time must be before end time
Timeline Time Management
Start Time Slider
Global Time Shifting:
Slider Control: Adjust the session's overall start time
Timeline Impact: Shifting the start time moves all sections accordingly
Example: If first section starts at 8:00 AM and you set start time to 9:00 AM, all sections shift forward by 1 hour
Usage:
Use the start time slider to set the session's base start time
All timeline sections automatically adjust relative to this base time
Provides quick global timeline adjustments without modifying individual sections
Timeline Section Management
Adding New Sections
Add Section Button: Click the "Add Section" button in the timeline interface
Modifying Existing Sections
Edit Section Details:
Section Name: Update the descriptive name for the section
Start Time: Click and use time picker to set section beginning
End Time: Click and use time picker to set section conclusion
Section Operations
Available Actions for Each Section:
Duplicate Section:
Click the duplicate button on any section tile
Creates a copy of the section with identical timing
Useful for repeating similar time blocks
Delete Section:
Click the delete button on any section tile
Removes the section from the timeline
Restriction: Cannot delete if it's the only section (minimum one required)
Section Management Rules:
Minimum Requirement: Each timeline must contain at least one section
Time Validation: Start time must always be before end time
Order Preservation: Sections maintain chronological order
