ProScore score entry
How to enter scores in Gym Art Meets if you're coming from ProScore.
Prerequisites: You have set up judge profiles and assigned judges to apparatus.
In ProScore
ProScore supports three score entry methods: (1) hardware keypads connected to the main PC via a junction box, where each event has its own keypad(s) and judges enter scores with tactile buttons on a 2-line LCD display; (2) iKeypad, an iPad app that communicates wirelessly via a dedicated WiFi router; and (3) direct entry at the meet director's computer. ScoreGen manages the connection between keypads, junction boxes, and scoreboards. Scores flow through the system and display on Mini-Alpha scoreboards at each apparatus.
In Gym Art Meets
1. No Hardware Required
This is the biggest change for ProScore users. There are no junction boxes, no hardware keypads, no ScoreGen, and no PlasmaGen. All score entry happens through the Judges Companion mobile app over standard WiFi or cellular data.
Each judge uses their own phone or tablet - no dedicated iPads, no dedicated WiFi router, and no physical wiring between apparatus stations and the scoring table. If you have internet connectivity at the venue, you're ready to score.
2. Judges Enter Scores via the Judges Companion App
Each judge opens the Judges Companion on their phone/tablet, selects their assigned apparatus, and enters scores:
D1 judge enters the difficulty score and neutral deductions
E judges (E1-E7) enter their execution deductions (deducted from 10.0)
VR records video (no score entry)
S1 (Supervisor) can fulfill any judge role
This replaces all three ProScore entry methods - hardware keypads, iKeypad iPad app, and direct PC entry.
3. Score Calculation
Gym Art Meets calculates the final score automatically:
Final Score = Execution + Difficulty + Bonus - Neutral Deductions
If multiple E judges are assigned, the initial execution value is calculated based on the level's setting: average all, drop high, drop low, or drop both high and low.
4. Vault Scoring
For vault, the level's Vault Score Decision setting determines how two attempts are combined:
One Vault
Only Vault 1 counts
Average
Average of Vault 1 and Vault 2
Best of Two
Higher score counts
In ProScore, vault handling is often determined by the selected meet rules and level. In Gym Art Meets, it's configured per level.
